Do late payments affect a credit score? Paying bills on time is usually the most important factor to a good credit history. If you are late on any bill, for any length of time, is a possible indication of future non-payment of debt and is always viewed negatively by CREDITORs. Since late payment is a negative factor for credit score, try to pay all bills on-time. In order not to miss a due date it is better to use a reminder which notifies you about the payment date. Any late payments stay on your Credit Report for up to seven years and cannot be removed unless it is an error.
