Is there quick and easy way to repair credit history? No. There is none. No one can legally erase, correct, or repair information that contained in your credit file if it is accurate. Credit Reporting agencies must keep negative information for 7 years and bankruptcy for 10 years according to FCRA. The consumer has the right to correct the any items on credit file but only those which are not correct. Another way to repair your credit history is to present consistent on-time payments for a long period of time. If you have a negative item on your Credit Report the weight of this item becomes lesser with every each year. In this case you can really tell that "time cures". Information in consumer credit profile will be changed only if the items are wrong, or are dated beyond the 7 or 10 year period, required under FCRA.
