Steps to repair your Credit.
1. Obtain all three credit bureaus credit reports.
2. Read the credit reports to identify troublesome credit records.
3. Dispute those credit records on your credit report with the credit bureaus.
4. Disputed credit report records are removed or corrected. Credit report records that were not verified are removed.
5. Discuss negative credit report items with creditors and collection companies.
6. After you discuss and make payment, creditors delete the negative accounts or change them to a positive credit rating.
7. Do not confirm the account if any information about the credit record is wrong.
8. Do not use letterhead.
9. Do not photocopy a fill in the blanks form letter.
10. You may want to send disputes during busy times of the year that can cause a delay in verification within a reasonable time.
